Meet the Team
Shawn Jacobs
Agent/Broker
Shawn has been helping Montanans navigate the world of insurance for more than 20 years. He started in 1999 with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, and worked in Sales and Marketing for almost 15 years, with over half of those years as the Manager and Director of the Individual and Medicare team at the headquarters in Helena. With a vision to help clients more directly, Shawn took the opportunity and opened the Helena branch of Rocky Mountain Insurance in 2013 and hasn’t looked back.

With a natural desire and ability to help people and problem-solving, Shawn takes his customer service to whatever level is needed to find solutions for all the different situations people encounter throughout their lives. He prides himself on helping all people be creative to protect the things in their lives — whether it’s building a family, helping employers offer competitive benefits, or helping the Baby Boomers retire comfortably without worrying about potential health issues and large medical bills. Insurance can be complicated – but Shawn makes sure that his clients receive what they need to know in the simplest manner, and helps them make the best decision for the situation.

Shawn is a born and raised Helenan and enjoys the beautiful Montana outdoors and all it has to offer. When not spending time at the lake, you can find him competing on the bowling lanes trying to shoot a “300,” or on the golf course as the Montana weather allows. He is proud to share his life with his unbelievable wife, Noel, of almost 25 years, and couldn’t be more proud of Noel’s daughter, Lisa, and her three children (yes – Shawn is a Grandpa), and admires incredibly the successes and bright future of his two sons, Kade and Myles.
Jacob Holden
Agent/Broker
Jacob (Jake) joined Rocky Mountain Insurance Group part-time in November of 2021. He became a full-time agent in February of 2022 and has since been busy learning. Prior to joining the company, he worked in the criminal justice field for the last 7 years. Between law firms, City Courts, security, and Law Enforcement, Jake brings with him a diverse work history that helps him understand his clients’ situations. Although Jake is fairly new to the world of insurance, he has a personal goal to become an expert in the industry.
In 2017, he graduated from Montana State University-Northern with a Bachelor of Science and a Minor in Business Administration. Jake is born and raised on the hi-line in Havre. He strives to offer his clients that small, hometown customer service and assistance they deserve.

When not at work he enjoys spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Montana with his girlfriend, working on projects at home, and playing with his dog Nova.
Jake is a little bit of an adrenaline junkie, so when time allots for extras, you might find him working on a derby car, riding dirt bikes, or hanging out at the race track.
Karen Miser
Administrative Assistant
Karen has worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years. Her insurance career began with the State of Montana with the Worker’s Compensation Division and then moved into the life & health insurance business in the year 2003. She has been with Rocky Mountain Insurance Group since the start of the Helena branch in 2013. Karen is the person that will greet you at the door, is most likely the voice you will hear on the phone, and supports the agents in managing the day-to-day operations.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and granddaughter, shopping, and visiting her mother and brother’s family in neighboring Montana cities. She also likes spending time with her friends and going on local rides and dinner. She has pets which keep her busy at home.
Over the years she has traveled with her mother to Europe, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and the lower 48 states. She has also always enjoyed going on vacations & camping trips with her husband and son, and enjoys working on family history and learning about her family’s past.

Kailey Kuntz
Administrative Assistant
Kailey joined the agency in May of 2024, and has been in the industry since 2021. You can find her up front with Karen answering phones, doing paperwork and assisting the Agents. Kailey was born & raised in Helena, and when she’s not at work, you can find her spending time outdoors, traveling and crafting at home.
Kailey loves to spend her days outside of work with friends skiing, dirt biking and snowmobiling whenever she can. Most of the time you will find her with her Australian Shepherd, Banditt, while camping in the mountains for a weekend or spending the day at the lake. Kailey loves to travel, and has been to Hawaii, California, Nevada, Mexico, as well as the majority of the states surrounding Montana and every state on the east coast ranging from Florida to Washington D.C.
On the days it is not very nice outside you can find Kailey curled up with a book, painting, or crocheting blankets and stuffed animals for friends and family members. She may stay busy with her adventures & activities outside of the office, but she is excited to have her adventure here at Rocky Mountain Insurance Group.
